Each day, we need you to write a diary-style post, telling us:

• What have you done today?
o Give us a brief outline of how you spent your day
• What drinks have you had? For each drink, tell us:
o Brand / type of drink, e.g. tea, beer, Coca-Cola etc
o Time of day
o Purpose of drink, e.g. to revive, sooth hangover, rehydrate, improve performance in exercise, energise, intoxicate!
o Where and when did you buy it?
o Why did you choose that particular brand? e.g. tastes the best, the cheapest, love the brand etc
o Upload some photos of drinks you’ve had during the day

Example:
I was at work all day. Spent about an hour in the gym after work and then met up with some friends in town and went for a few drinks.
The drinks I had through the day were:
Cup of tea about 8am to wake me up. Tetley’s tea bags bought in Tesco because that’s what my mum always used to buy.
Various glasses of water and cups of tea through the day at work to keep me hydrated – taken from the kitchen.
Went and bought a can of Coke at about 4pm for a sugar rush – was feeling pretty sleepy at my desk. Bought it in the newsagents at lunchtime. Love the taste and the feeling of drinking it when it’s ice cold.
More water to rehydrate at the gym at around 7pm – filled up my bottle from the fountain.
Then beers! Had three pints of Red Stripe in the pub in the evening – they didn’t have Becks so it was the next best thing for me. Drank them to be sociable and get a bit tipsy. Here are some pics…

  3. Today I have been at work from 8.45 to 5pm. This morning I had to get up early to sort out my running stuff and dig out my Garmin watch as doing a lunch time time run.

This morning at 9am I had a coffee, shortly followed by a tea. This is about the physcological boast I get from having caffine. I think it wakes me up, not sure if it does or not.

Then I had a a green tea about half ten and a red bush tea with vanilla at 12.30. I like to drink warm drinks, but figure I have had enough caffine so go for these alternatives. I like the idea of their natural antioxidants too.

Most of these drinks were drunk due to boredom and the opportunity that making them gives me to get away from my desk. They are all pre bought and in my drawer at work.

I had a litre of water about 11am in anticipation of my 3 mile run. The girls I am running with are not very quick, so dont think feel like I need anything more and also dont want the extra calories a sports drink gives me.

I will drink a sports drink around 5.30pm before I go swimming. I would never consider an 'energy drink' such as red bull.
